The six honorees demonstrate a variety of new and old companies in the province, and an interesting mix of industries that make up the production matrix of Cordoba.
Cristiano Rattazzi is, perhaps, one of the nicest and most accessible businessmen of the establishment among the businessmen of Buenos Aires. He is in charge of a multinational automotive company based in Cordoba that this year gave one of the most eagerly-awaited announcements in the province: with a strong investment, it will start producing cars once more in its plant at Ferreyra. He is putting the final touches to launch the series production of the ‘Cordovan Siena’, available beginning in January. From Fiat, they say that in 2008 they plan on growing “very, very much”, which means greater movement for Cordoba.
David "The Boss" Ruda is the creator and mentor of Tarjeta Naranja. A company that, from the interior, changed the history of the relationship between consumers and plastics and that is the envy of other companies due to the relationship it has always had with its employees. This year, Naranja strengthened its national expansion and, for the first time, it was also launched to the exterior. And they still dream of much more.
José Porta is in charge of a family company that has just turned 125 years old! Even at such an age, it is not considering staying still. In fact, a few months ago, it launched its new beverage fernet, called 1882. The company has worked for five years in its development, invested 10 million pesos and is betting everything to be a winner in a market that has been taken for years by an unquestionable leader. However, it doesn't end there, and it is clear that Porta does not lack energy. In 2008, they are expecting to launch 50 new products in their different production lines.
Daniel Parodi is the exemplary businessman that ‘took out his wallet’ and took a risk with a megaproject. He built up a Corporate City that this year started to come to life with offices and shops and that now is opening a hotel.
Mario Barra is in charge of one of the Pyme (Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises) that can be referred to as an example of what a Pyme should be. Vates is the only national technology company that reached the highest quality standards in the world. It grows without pause and is establishing bases in other countries to accelerate its exporting process.
Fernando Oris de Roa is the best example of how to “create a company.” The story of how Avex, a poultry company in Rio Cuarto, was created and transformed into the most important agro-industrial project of the province in the last few years, has him as the main character and, without question, deserves to be read and told.
They are just a bunch. Surely, there are a lot of businessmen who deserve to be recognized for their performance. However, through these ones, La Voz del Interior seeks to distinguish the men and companies that, with their work, contribute to Cordoba’s development.
