MercadoPublico.cl is the bidding platform of Chilean Government. It is an e-market that assists the hiring processes between buyers and providers of the State. It has a set of functionalities that enable the publication and search of business opportunities in the State, together with several forms that support each step of a bidding process: Creation of reference terms, questions and clarifications, offer creation and management, subscription of purchase orders and contracts, qualifications and claims, among others.

MercadoPublico.cl is the evolution of the transaction platform of the Chilean Public Purchase, which is the result of an exponential growth in the amount of buyers and providers since 2003, when the market reform of public purchases in Chile began, as well as the sophistication of requested applications. This new platform will bring about important improvements to service quality and quantity, which will benefit both public organisms and private companies, especially smaller ones.

MercadoPublico.cl is within the framework of the bicentennial plan of ChileCompra Direction, called ChileCompra 2.0 based on the 2008-2010 Strategic Plan. ChileCompra 2.0 includes new innovative projects for the State. It will allow the strengthening of a model that is a leader throughout the world, due to its combination of management, regulatory, training, and technology policies, which have favored the access of small and micro companies, the connectivity of companies and the transparency of the public sector.
