In their first meeting of the year 2000, Mercosur’s economy ministers and presidents of the Central Banks reaffirmed the solid commitment of member states in relation to fiscal solvency and monetary stability. They agreed that both of them are a necessary requisite to achieve a sustained economic and social development with greater equity and, therefore, their countries would be able to adapt to a frequently changing international scenario.
