R&D&i

The main goal of the R&D&i area is to search for and research innovative improvements that significantly optimize the processes and technology that Vates uses on a daily basis, thereby continuously improving the services and solutions offered to our clients.

The acronym R&D&i means Research & Development & Innovation.

Research means the original planned inquiry that seeks to discover new knowledge and a better insight into the scientific and technological environment.

Development is the application of the results of the research, or of any other type of scientific knowledge, to create new materials or products or to design new production processes or systems, as well as to bring about a substantial technological improvement of pre-existing materials, products, processes or systems.

Technological Innovation is the activity whose result is a technological advance in obtaining new production products or processes or substantial improvements to existing ones. The products or processes considered “new” are those whose characteristics or applications, from a technological point of view, substantially differ from those which already exist.

The main activities of this area worth mentioning are:

  • Incorporation of new technologies.
  • Evaluation and selection of tools (modeling, development, integration, testing, among others).
  • Development of frameworks that enable an increase in Vates’ productivity and quality regarding software development.
  • Working together with the internal areas of the company devoted to software production (products, projects and consulting), as well as with clients, in the definition of software architecture and the resolution of technical problems.
  • Working together with the quality area in the optimization of the software and test lab development processes, as well as in the incorporation of the best practices in the industry.

Every year, VATES devotes great effort to its R&D&i area. The motivation to research new processes, new methodologies, new technologies and tools is the engine that drives this activity within the company.

The projects carried out since 1991 allow us to implement methodologies and tools in controlled environments. Therefore, we are able to obtain objective data about the improvements provided to the organization and, in turn, to our clients.
