Software Factory

Software Factory

GENERAL OPERATION OUTLINE
Broadly speaking, the Software Factory will
have the following operation outline:

The Service Requests sent by the Client Team to VATES On-Site Team will have attached, in some cases, some of the following items: Software Requirements Specification, Estimates, Tentative Schedules,Defect Reports, Support Details, and any other information that will enable the Software Factory to carry out the planning to solve the request.

Once the Service Request is received by VATES On-Site Team, the defined Quality Gates will be controlled so as to determine if the information sent in the request is sufficient to start the planning.

Once Quality Gates have been validated, VATES On-Site Team sends a Service Request to the Production Line Leader that corresponds to the type of request and the type of application.

The Production Line Leader will analyze the information and produce a Project Plan that will include: effort estimation, estimated schedule and, if applicable, a detail of the proposed solution. This documentation will be sent to VATES On-Site Team for its evaluation together with the Client Team.

Once the Client Team approves the Project Plan, the Production Line begins working in accordance with it, requesting from the Client's Configuration Manager the download from the object repository of the software components necessary for the development and blocking them to avoid making branches.

Once the work is finished, it is sent to the Client.

For the development, work is going to be done with a VPN outline, accessing the client's development servers. If necessary, the alternative of implementing offshore development servers will be analyzed.
